Working with an organisation that I'm looking to get onboard with a forum. One thing I am interested in understanding is if there's any opportunity to customise the user profile. Idea would be for a directory profile to have particular fields (eg location, year of graduation etc) in addition to the more general text field. I realise we would simply provide a template for people to cut and paste in but having fixed fields is likely to provide a neater solution.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received

Working with an organisation that I'm looking to get onboard with a forum. They would be looking to run this as a private community but they also foresee situations where someone may want to post anonymously (eg someone talking about depression or other issues where they might not be so confident speaking about publicly)

Now normally for an open forum, the user would simply create another forum ID and post under that pseudonym. Is there an easy to way for a closed community member to post anonymously on sensitive subjects? I guess the whole anonymity issue is a can of worms in itself but keen to know whether there is an easy worth other than reaching out to the administrator to enable a second id to be created.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received

In terms of ticketing, the following is a wish/dream list based on what is being offered by other providers. I don't see Microco.sm as offering a full suite of services but it doesn't hurt to flag up functionality that would be useful:

Clarity in terms of costs for the events organiser - presume there's a revenue opportunity for Microco.sm but would be good to know how you're looking to take advantage of it - fixed costs per event or per ticket.
Splitting the taking of payments and giving refunds is potentially tricky. Presumably refunds are delivered through the same channel as payments are taken so splitting the two doesn't seem to make sense
Attendance tracking in graphical format allowing organiser to readily gauge if sales are above or below expectations

Allocation of administrative rights and tracking of payments. There's plenty of opportunity for fraud here if systems aren't robust so system needs to be tight.
Different payment options - credit card/Paypal/Bitcoin?
Calendar functionality so you can look at events in weekly/monthly views (may be already available) - not a ticketing issue but something that would be
'Widget' like functionality so that ticketing could be placed on different platforms ie Facebook, Twitter, email
Tickets with scannable QR codes which can be delivered by email

It's well worth looking at the likes of eventbrite, espresso events and eventbee for potential functionality although these services have been around a while so they have pretty advanced offerings and well developed business models. Suggestion is it might be better to integrate with a service like Eventbrite initially leaving you the opportunity to develop your own ticketing offer further down the line when Microco.sm is a bit more embedded within the forum marketplace.

Am interested in knowing whether there is means of restricting access (or more specifically publishing access) to a particular community. I would imagine the default is for open access but there's obviously going to be cases where forum organisers want to limit the opportunity to publish to those people who fulfill particular criteria (eg graduates of particular programmes; attendees of particular events). Maybe something of an edge case but interested to hear where you would on this functionality?
